2007 Sports Classic The Sports Classic was held in Lincoln on the weekend of August 10th. The Sports Classic is a three day event. There were approximately 24 teams from across the state that participated this year. Athletes competed in softball, bocce, soccer and bowling. Saturday evening we all get together for a banquet and dancing at the Abbott Sports Center. On August 10th, teams compete in softball. August 11th teams may be competing in soccer, singles bocce, and singles bowling. Finally on Sunday, August 12th, teams competed in doubles and team bocce and doubles bowling. In soccer the West Central Region was represented by Kearney Schools and Lexington Public Schools (two teams). In bocce we were represented by the teams from Hastings Alumni, Lexington Public Schools, Grand Island, Kearney Schools and North Platte. It was really a nice weekend to hold all of the competitions.
