ROLLERSKATINGOn December 7th we had the roller-skating competition in Grand Island at Skate Island. Thirty-two athletes from Grand Island, Lexington Adults and Cozad competed in the competition. Competition included the following events: 30m Slalom, 30m Straight line, 100m race, 300m race, 500m race, 1000m race, and the 100m relay race. We would like to recognize the following individuals for their role in providing a quality competition: Wayne (manager of Skate Island), Chuck and Sue Hoffman (processing entries & assisting in organizing the competition), Dr. Bishop and the UNK students (worked as volunteers and ran the different events), the HOD's and coaches for training the athletes, and the athletes for their commitment to training and their pursuit of reaching their potential.
