The 2008 Sports Classic was held August 15-17th in Lincoln. Many teams from across the state competed over the weekend. About 847 athletes from across the state were scheduled to compete at this event. Here is a breakdown of athlete numbers by sport: Softball - 143, Bowling - 588, Soccer - 71, and Bocce - 228.

The Leadership Conference will be held October 17 & 18th at the Holiday Inn, Grand Island. Any coach, family member, HOD, volunteer, committee or Board member who is serving our athletes may attend. There is a registration fee of $35 which includes lunch, break items, and conference materials. The agenda is scheduled to include: a report on the 2010 National Games, information on coaches' certification, business/budget session, and any changes SONE has made regarding sports rules or policies. We strongly encourage at least one representative from each team to attend.
