Kevin Witte has been a social studies teacher at Kearney High School
for six years and teaches World Geography, Advanced Placement World
History, World History, and American History. He completed a
bachelor's degree in Social Science Education 7-12 at Doane College in
Crete, Nebraska in 2000, a master's degree in Educational Curriculum
and Instruction at Doane College in 2002, and a master's degree in
History at the University of Nebraska at Kearney in 2005. In
addition to his upcoming participation in the Aramco Educators to Saudi
Arabia Program, he has participated in educator study programs to
Egypt, Italy, and Japan, as well as conducting a tour of Italy and
Greece for high school students. Online communication and digital
technologies have played a vital role in bringing these international
experiences back into his classroom, school, and community.
The Aramco Educators Program to Saudi Arabia will take him to Houston,
Texas and the American headquarters of Aramco for a brief orientation
where he will meet up with 24 other high school educators from across
the United States. From Houston, the group will depart for a ten
day tour of Saudi Arabia, visiting the cities of Dhahran, Riyadh and
Jeddah, and investigating the history, culture, foreign relations,
industry, economy, and education system of Saudi Arabia. It will
be these experiences and observations that will form the basis for this
enrichment program.
